Natural Capitalism Solutions Employee Spotlight
AJ Grosenbaugh has been with Natural Capitalism Solutions for almost a year. Starting as an intern and moving onto a full-time employee this past may, he’s been a huge asset to the NCS team. Read more about him below!
Tinkering, whether its the car, my bike, I like to try to fix things.
AJ is a nickname. Short for Andrew James.
Why did you decide to work for NCS?
I was drawn by the approach of realizing practical, economically viable solutions to the decline of our natural resources. The realization that economics and the environment are not mutually exclusive ideas. I was also drawn in further by Hunter’s passion.
What is your sustainability (or professional) focus?
I focus on helping governments enact plans and develop policies that can steer communities towards sustainability that profits generations to come.
What have you learned so far at NCS?
There are some really smart people doing really amazing things out there simply for the love of their fellow humans and the Earth.
Describe a funny work moment:
Things you don’t hear at most jobs -> Hunter quote: “we were rodeo-ing pretty hard”
Do you have a favorite newspaper, blog?
Right now I don’t have one. It had been Ecosystem Marketplace, then Utility Dive. Currently reading The Beautiful and Damned, and laid off the heavy stuff for a brief moment.
Do you have a motto or personal mantra?
If you could interview one person, dead or alive, who would it be?
Thomas Paine (if it was a dinner party I’d include: Michelle Obama, Hank Aaron, RFK)
People would be surprised if they knew:
I used to work for the Colorado Rockies
