Natural Capitalism Solutions, founded and led by one of the world’s leading sustainability pioneers and visionaries, has decades of experience developing cutting edge, impactful climate change and sustainability solutions for companies and communities. Yet we know we can’t do it alone.
That’s why we “house” like-minded projects, programs, and aspiring future non-profits (Contact us if you have a great idea!). These amplify our impact in two important ways. We provide resources and a springboard for turning ideas into actions that otherwise languish. Second, we collaborate with our housed organizations, magnifying everyone’s efforts. This is especially true with one of our most impactful partners, the Clean Coalition.
Clean Coalition goal is to enable the U.S. to become 100% powered by renewable energy, substantially from local sources. They accelerate the transition to renewable energy and a modern grid through technical, policy, and project development expertise. [Read more here (w/ link to full article)] Their policy innovations streamline the planning, procurement, and interconnection of distributed energy resources (DER)—such as local renewables, advanced inverters, demand response, and energy storage.
Clean Coalition also collaborates with utilities and municipalities to create near-term deployment opportunities that demonstrate the technical and financial viability of local renewables and other DER. Their Community Microgrid Initiative, represents a new approach to designing and operating the electric grid, utilizing local renewables and other DER to achieve a more sustainable, secure, and cost-effective energy system while providing renewables-driven power backup for prioritized loads over indefinite durations.
The Clean Coalition not only enables municipalities transition to a low carbon, clean energy economy on their own, but also partners with us to present such educational programs as our recent webinar recording on effective strategies municipalities are implementing to go carbon neutral. This described the innovative models cities are using to support the development of local renewable energy.
